The Fashion Law Africa Summit 2024 marked its first-ever Toronto edition, hosted at Shopify Headquarters, bringing together founders, creatives, and legal experts to empower African fashion designers and brands. The one-day summit blended hands-on workshops and high-impact panels covering fashion law and IP protection, retail strategy, brand storytelling, influencer marketing, funding and pitching, and safeguarding creative “secret sauce,” alongside conversations on culture, global growth, and the Black effect in fashion. With an IRL Fashion Law Clinic, shopping experiences, and intentional networking woven throughout, the summit created a powerful space where African fashion, business, and cultural protection converged.
